Surfing Andalucia

3100 hours of sunshine per year!

Andalucia is consistently warm with pleasant temperatures in winter and hot in the summer offering excellent surfing conditions. With over 3100 hours of sunshine per year and relatively calm local weather systems the swells during the winter are usually organised, powerful and perfect.

The beaches between Tarifa and Cadiz have some of the best and most consistent waves for surfing and body boarding in Spain. El Palmar and Los Caños de Mecca are two of Andalucia best surf spots. The best waves are normally in autumn and spring.
Perfect conditions to learn surfing for beginners and advanced surfers!

The surrounding coastline of the Costa de la Luz in Andalusia, Spain stretches north and south for 200km. The beaches here are excellent, as are most beaches on the Costa de la Luz; miles and miles of fine white sands and crystal clear waters.

Andalucia itself is renowned for its sheer elegance and atmosphere. Cadiz is probably most famous for its Manzanilla wine and also for its prawns. Then there’s the summer horse races on the beach and don’t forget, the Cadiz carnival, said to be third largest carnival celebration in the world!
