Oporto surf spot

Leca in North Portugal is an exposed beach break that usually has waves and can work at any time of the year. Is a powerful beachbreak at the north side of Leixões Harbor.

Leça offers good barrels but it can get out of control in swells over 2,5 or 3 meters.

Offshore winds are from the east.

Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the west.

The beach break offers both left and right hand waves.

Leça da Palmeira is usually a favourite spot for Porto surfers.

Waves are quite powerful, and delivers high surfing consistency throughout the year.

The bottom is mainly sand, with a few rocks.

Loads of ammenities around, like bars, cafe´s, restaurants, etc.
