Watergate Bay

A beautiful 2.5 mile long beach bordering the Northern side of Newquay

Beautifully long Sandy beach, where you can easily escape the crowds of summer with just a short walk. Lots of peaks. Sometimes closes out at low tide. Has a large tidal range so is worth checking before you hit the beach. Webcam and daily surf reports are available from the Watergate Bay Hotel, and Shop On the Beach. Perfect location to escape the Newquay crowds!

A great wave for all levels of surfer. Lifeguarded from 10 - 6 daily from May - September. Strong lateral rip currents and large tides. Westerlay facing exposed bay that picks up lots of swell, but easily affected by the wind conditions

The beach has plenty of parking and facilities including a surf school, surf shops, cafes, restaurants, toilets, surf renatls and accommodation right on the beach. Only a short trip into Newquay town or the nearby fishing village of Padstow.
