Britain’s top Junior surfers will return to attack the waves of Fistral Beach, Newquay on July 24/25th at the Billabong British Jnr Championships in association with Calypso and Fistral Blu restaurant.
This year, the event looks to raise the bar again in UK junior surfing. Billabong’s Stretch Your Summer Tour presented by Monster Energy will also be in full swing at the event with surf lessons at the beach, goodie bags available to all who participate in the lessons through Fistral Beach Surf School.
Look for strong showings from Josh Piper and Toby Donachie in the under 18s as well as a crop of hot up and coming talent including Max Tucker, Luke Dillon, Nathan Elms to name a few. All competitors will be looking to do well at this year’s British Championships to gain selection to the World ISA Junior Championships. Last year saw the largest ever entry with over 160 surfers traveling from all over the country to compete for this major title. The British Surfing Association (BSA) and sponsors Billabong, Calypso, Fistral Blue are putting all the final arrangements in place and preparing themselves for what is expected to be the biggest ever entry.
The event includes 6 divisions including Under 12s, Under 14s, Under 16, Under 18, Under 14 girls and Under 18 girls.
