Philosophy: Ocean Side is a company that is entirely specialized in surfing. It is run for and by surfers.Our Surf School offers a very professionally run surf school with many years of experience. It is entirely based on learning people how to surf and it is dedicated only to perfection in the sport. Surf Camp Accommodation is designed for people residing on the island for a longer time, who want to learn how to surf or improve their surfing technique. Special accommodation and course packages are also offered.
Location: Having around 400,000 inhabitants Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the capital of the western province of the Canary Islands (this includes the neighboring islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote). Our Surfcamp, Surfschool und Surfshop are located in the Street Calle Almansa, 14. The districts name es Guanarteme. Right around the corner you can find the amazing Canteras Beach and also the concert hall Auditorio Kraus. From Ocean Side you have easy access to all Surfspot of Las Palmas! The spot were me mostly do our surf classes is calles La Cicer – a perfekt beach break for beginners as well as experienced surfers.
Beaches: The Canteras beach, where our Surf Camp is located, is certainly the jewel of the city. There are 3 more beaches withing the city, worth of your interest; the completely unspoilt beach of Confital with the best waves in Europe, the beach Alcaravaneras, and the black La Laja beach which is also a suitable surf spot.
Nightlife: There are really small chances that you will find Surf camps with such an active and features-full nightlife anywhere in the world. Directly in front the surf camp you may check out the numerous bars, pubs and discos that are mostly visited by the surfing- people. If this is not enough for your needs, the Old part of town and the street of Franchy y Roca offer whole night parties, where you can dance until the early morning hours.
Accomodation: Starting from now you can book many new and very diverse Surfcamp Packages. No matter if you are a beginner, an advanced surfer or if you are interested in surf trips or combinations with other sports like Mountainbike or Hiking – we have the best fitting package for you! Every package can be totally adapted to your personal needs! Last but not least we now also offer a much wider range of different accommodation! All the standard prices in our Surfcamp Packages include shared acccommodation in one of our Surfhouses. But if you want more privacy you can also book these packages with private accommodation like Apartments, Hotels or Studios – paying an upgrade.
Surfhouse La Ventana Azul Sea View: Due to its stunning location right on the beach and near numerous surf spots, our personal all-round service and a special infrastructure tailored to surfing requirements, the new Surfhouse La Ventana Azul Sea View is probably the best surfhouse on the island!
- Sleeping: The house has dorms for 4 people (with 2 bunk beds) but also private rooms with a double bed and sea view! Be it for a couple or solo traveller – we have the perfect room for you!
- Relaxing: On the ground floor you will find our spacious living room from where you can hear the roaring of the sea. It is the perfect place to unwind while reading surfing magazines or enjoying a surfer movie on our beamer.But you will probably like it best in our open-air chill-out area – also known as the “Surfer’s throne over Canteras beach”. Hammocks, deckchairs and rocking chairs, sofas, a barbecue corner and al-fresco shower will make you want to stay forever. Not to forget the fantastic views of the sea. From here you can check out the waves at sunrise while you are still brushing your teeth!
- Eating: Fully equipped is no empty promise. The kitchen boasts a coffee machine, dishwasher, big fridge, stove and microwave.
- New friends: As we live in the surfhouse ourselves, you will always have a multilingual contact in the house. We organise weekly outings to explore our multifaceted island. You can also feel free to organise barbecues with other surfers on the rooftop terrace. So, no matter whether you are travelling alone or with your partner – in our surfhouse you will make friends quickly and get to meet interesting people from all over the world.
