The Surf Experience in Sri Lanka

Location: Our accomodation in Sri Lanka is based in the south near Galle right on the beach. The wave in front of our small hotel is a world class wave. On smaller days this can as well be taken on by inexperienced surfers. Just 10 minutes away, there is another bay with perfect for both, beginners and advanced surfers. This is the surftrip of a lifetime! Warm, crystal clear, turquoise water and perfect waves! Tropical climate, and only 9 hours flight away, Yet almost undetected in the Surfworld!

Accomodation/ Food: The hotel we found near Galle is simple, clean and tasteful, situated right on the beach front. At sunset, after another unforgettable day of surfing, you can relax with cold beer under the palm tree roof overlooking the sea and waves. What more could you want!? Food is very cheap and a good dinner will cost 3-4 €. Every day fishermen come to the hotel and offer fresh fish and lobster.

Surf course: Also in Sri Lanka we go surfing seven days a week! Either we will stay right at the spot in front of the door or drive in the typical “Tuk-Tuk’s” to one of the numerous nearby bays. Personal coaching in groups of maximal 6 persons per coach and video analysis are guaranteed. Our coaches know how to give you objective advice on improving your skills and are always there to offer advice on the beach and in the water. We are focusing on the FUN of surfing, regardless how good your surfing skills are. Surfboards can be hired, if you do not have your own equipment. The range of boards covers softboards as well as everything between a 6’0 shortboard up to a 9’4 longboard.

Arrival: Flights to Sri Lanka cost about 800 - 1000 €. It is really only worth it if you book for 2 weeks. We organize transfer from Colombo airport to the hotel which costs about 60-70 € (combined per trip). This trip takes 4-5 hours and is perhaps the most exciting part of the journey.
