PenicheHostel – surfers home

After the success of PenicheHostel Backpackers, the same team is opening now this new and refreshing place for your accomodation. The Surfers Home is located 10 meters from the sea at Baleal Beach. It is a house all surrounded by green grass and trees with the Atlantic Ocean just around the corner. Our main concern is that, while you are here, your staying is the most comfortable and familiar as possible. That’s why we only have 14 guests. If you are a surfers or if you want to learn how to surf we have a surfschool and surfing material that you can rent.

Hostel conditions

We have 2 dorms and 2 double rooms. The first dorm hosts 4 guests and the other one 6. One of the double rooms as a toilette insuite and a great view to the ocean. The base for the decorations is: surfing the planet .

We, and our guests choosed Theaupoo (Oceania) Pipeline ( America), G-Land (Asia ) and Supertubes (Europe) as our creative waves to start the decoration. As we are a new hostel we hope our new guests can contribute to continue this creative process. In the lounge you can access internet , watch dvd´s or just calm down near the fire place (if its winter). We also have in the yard a wood oven that you can use to cook pizza, bread, fish…anything you wish Our bereberian big tent will allow you to chill out in the garden among pillows, tea, stories of travelling and surfing. You have a fully equipped kitchen that you can use. For breakfast we offer a light one to complement your daily needs.

Surfers Home offers you accomodation in a house surrounded by green grass, trees and a big berberian tent on the yard. Outside you can hear the sound of the Ocean, cook a barbeque or a pizza made on our wood oven. Inside, you find a house decorated is a theme: SURFING THE PLANET, cozy, clean, confortable and most of all with people that realy enjoy to receive guests.

Our Surfers Home is within walking distance from some of the best waves in Peniche. It is located in Casais do Baleal. Baleal is a small beach 5 minutes drive from Peniche and 1 hour from Lisbon. There is regular public transport coming to and from Peniche. You can get a taxi from the bus station in Peniche or walk the 4 km to find us. There are bars and coffee shops on the beach where you can watch the sunset or party at night. There are also many types of restaurants, a market, surf shops, a bakery and everything necessary for your everyday needs.

If you are a experienced surfers you´ll be happy with all the waves you can find in our 10km coast. We have beach breaks, point breaks, reef breaks, and more important of all, we have a peninsula that means waves with all diferent kind of winds and/or sweel directions.

If you are a beginner or never tryied to surf we own a surfschool to help you. PH surfschool as a different way of dealing with surfing lessons. We offer you a unique surfing experience in a safe and friendly environment. Our classes are based in the thought that every human being is different. Considering that, our classes are personal and we never take more than 8 people into the water. This makes the difference!! Our trainers believe that only with fully personalized classes you can improve your surfing and start to have real fun. Surfing with PH surf school allows surfers to escape the masses and really enjoy the surfing experience. It’s our believe that surfing is more than an extreme sport, it is a way of living. With our classes you´ll learn also about this kind of live, the love and respect for nature as well as the love and respect for others.

We will introduce you the Ocean and the waves in a way that in the end of the sessions you´ll be looking at is dangers and virtues in a different way. At our surf school, we offer professional surfing coaches qualified with Portuguese Surfing Federation.
