Great Barrier is where your surfers dream becomes true. Empty beautiful beaches with heaps of spots and great camping. A busy easter sunday there is less busy then a monday afternoon in Piha in winter. Also great fishing, diving, snorkling... One of my favourite places. Check out the new years rave and the DOC Campgroud right next to Medlands. Fly for cheap or take the ferry.
